African In tech is also an open source platform where you can build and contribute to projects that address tech problems in Africa via Hackathons.
Africa in tech is also a bridge that connects American companies that built solutions for Africa and African companies interested in the tech Market of US.
The theme is new learning options for quickly acquiring new skills at a time when developments in technologies like machine learning, artificial intelligence and data manipulation are evolving rapidly.
The pitch is that traditional learning methods based on classroom learning are falling short, and need to be complemented by mentoring, hackathons, makerspaces, fairs and other informal channels. In essence, a combination of apprenticeship, experiences and structured learning.
What role could play new models like “Online Education”, “42 system” in this new environment ?
Before launching 42 in France with Xavier Niel, Kwame participated in the creation of one the largest computer schools in France and has led a career completely dedicated to IT both as an entrepreneur and within major large companies.His background and his empathetic nature has led him to develop a strong social fiber. He is especially involved with underprivileged young adults in education regarding computer programming.
